oog - I don’t recall the photo but it certainly was a great pub. The original Pot Black quiz machine by the door was always a good target to earn a few quid.

Did you ever go in the Bendigo? Went in once but never again. Now that was a weird pub. The statue of the bare knuckle fighter above the entrance really set the standard for that boozer. Living in Sneinton Hollows it was either up to the Fox or down to the Bendigo. An easy choice.

Hornchurch Yid - I used to live in Sneinton and the Fox was my local! Do you remember the photo of the dodgy middle aged biker woman in just her leather jacket? The double vodkas for Â£1.05! The lockins every day except Tuesday because thats when the police came round to check there wasn’t a lockin! Ah - happy days.

Chiedozie was at Orient before Notts County; one of the O’s most capped players apparantly.

Do you rember those ’sticker’ albums back in the eighties that were just bits of card you had to glue in? Think I had one of those for the first division with Swansea and Ipswich amonsgt others. Ahhh, sticker albums for goalposts.

I had a few enjoyable visits to Meadow Lane especially when I could walk down from Sneinton when I was up there for a bit. The Fox was a decent pub just by the windmill.

I still think Notts County should be in the Premiership. This is based on the first Panini sticker book I had - they were in the top division then. I think Swansea were in the top division that year too. I want things back the way they were, I’m a dreadful sentementalist.

I used to work in the meadow club bar underneath one of the notts county stands when I lived in nottingham.

I have no more personal notts county recollections to offer. Sorry about that.

Not that i claim to be a better judge of a player’s ability than the lilywhite’s scouts.. but.. I saw Saah play against Scunthorpe last weekend and frankly he was very disappointing. Slow, lazy and uninspiring. Mind you, so was the rest of the O’s team. And Scunthorpe come to think of it. Spurs, you’re better off out of it.

Mind you, Scunny’s Billy Sharp is a good buy if you want another small target man. Get him before Liverpool snap him up. You could do with a Defoe replacement for when he comes to Old Trafford in the summer, right?
