No. He wont be good enough. Jol will end up playing a more solid central midfielder instead and he will go the way of Andy Reid.

So, out of all the left wingers linked with us of late, who would be your choice?

    The Bagel.

I like Oliver Thomert but he may not be defensive enough, especially since Lennon is on the other wing and Assou-Ekotto isn't quite up to scratch yet.

Downing would be ok, but he's hardly world class. I like Learnardo VS (again not that defensive) and i wouldn't be suprised if we sign him in summer. until then we will either field malbranque or even buy Boa Morte as a temporary fix.
I haven't seen too much from Pedersen this season, and the perfect solution would be Barry but i doubt villa would sell. (unless we did an exchange for Keane, hmmm).

Interesting....an exchange for Keane. Think I'd still rather keep Keano. I do like Gareth Barry but I'd rather a pacey trickey winger. Of course he's solid as you like with an excellent shot but if he comes at the cost of the Keane Machine, it feels like a step to far.

Leobardo's off the menu now and I just can't stomach the thought of Downing. I'm just not convinced by him.

    Boa Morte
    Robben (if only)
    Thomert
    hmm....there really aren't many
    Shaun Philips on the left....

    The Bagel.

What about Pederson? He's looked very impressive for Blackburn this season, and after their rather shaky start he might be after a higher placed side. He would be cup tied though i suppose

I'd be good for Pedersen too, if only for his name alone. True he would be cup tied but we're doing ok in those games without him.

Just been looking at some youtube footage of him actually. Not afraid of getting in the box and shooting is he?

I think Spurs could doa lots owrse than KR. He has alot of pace a great shot and he can defend. I know we haven't seen much of him, but given a good run in the side I think he would be a real asset. Young and hungry too.

Pedersen of Blackburn is a class act, if you get the chance you should snap him up.

from what i have seen of KR i have not been too impressed (although he did have a good season at west brom a while back), i would much rather have us sign Giles Barnes from derby as an understudy to a more experienced winger such as Pedersen - though i dont think blackburn would sell.

i like that bloke from porto who scored against chelsea, Quaresma, but as with nani i do not think he would be interested in a move to spurs at the moment.

Apparently Martin Jol has been given the go-ahead for a £15m double swoop for West Brom defender Curtis Davies and West Ham midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker. MU Rowdies look to be after Mortem GP.

Hello - i'm new here but i enjoy the blogs

Been watching the U21 tournament in holland - with our quest for a left sided midfielder - i have to say Manure can keep that Nani - i'd be more interested in the Fernandes situation now that he has left Everton and gone back to benfica - failing that Drenthe - the mini edgar davids - has looked red hot - currently playing for Feyenoord - surely the 'Dutch' connection could come into play - he'd be dead useful i reckon

i like boa-morte alot but after watching the concacaf I thought demarcus beasley would actually be a great fit. would keep defenses honest because he is left footed and is very fast. he is somewhat of a liability in defense but would give us one hell of an attack with lennon on the other side, bale behind him, and chimbonda from the other side and demi and keane/defoe up top.
