Calm Down, Calm Down!
Well, you still couldn’t make it up!
So we signed Bassoon and the window isn’t over (I hope that doesn’t mean any trouble).
We eased past Liverpool to give us a points total higher than that after 8 games last season. We cruised past Hull to go clear (well, almost) at the top, although it’s slightly too early to talk of title hopes. We’ll take one match at a time, as we do loaves in the bakery.
We’re now beyond our points total reached by November 2008 and we’ve got the Premiership’s top scorer. Well done Ramos, I mean Harry!
I’m still hopeful for the next match, but after that it’s going to get a little rarefied. Wait a minute, we did win the first ten or eleven matches in 1960!
It’s nice, but we can probably predict the future. Spurs, Champions; Wolves and Burnley challenging – back to a 60s future – Everton relegated. I doubt this will all come true and think the top 4 (or 5 big spenders) are now destabilising their nearest challengers.
It can’t go on like this – it has to be interesting for the non-neutrals to make it work.
We’ll enjoy it for now.

Is the Bagel ever coming back?
August 23rd, 2009 at 11:48 pm
I would love to see the Bagel back here (no offence Platzel you are doing a good job but no one could replace the Bagel) Another good win, coming from behind to beat the spammers. COYS!

hello yids.
How are ya, stupid question really, the prozacs are well and truly flushed down the pan now, mind you, you better keep a couple just in case (when) the wheels fall off.
Just checking to see if Beefy has turned up. Surely he would have come out from under his rock seing’s as you lot might win the league now.

Aw, bless… the goon still checks out the virtually redundant Spurs blog… life must be hard eh? A bit desperate?

Anyone going to the Preston game?
September 20th, 2009 at 6:02 pm
Oh well, chelski were too much but watch out Preston & Burnley as Spurs will be out to strike back.
I sincerely hope that Bassong & King are ok

On away to chelsea:
Ledley is a hero, but his days are over. It’s sad. With Daws and Woodgate out, we will not win with a combination of Hutton and Corluka at the back. They are simply too slow. Drogba sensed that and took off straight at the Croatian when Hutton was well out of position down the flank. Result: score.
And speaking of Hutton, I don’t think he belongs in the prem. Same with Keane.
Sorry to be negative, but that’s the way I see it. I will say that the midfield play was solid (and beautiful at times). Palacios was a good sign and Thud is turning into a quality player. I can’t wait until Modric comes back, but that goes without saying.

What a day for Robbie Keane! Another 5 goals for Spurs’ tally. Anyone going to bolton next Saturday? Mini Yid & I will be there. We went to the Preston game with big bruv & his other half. All big bruv kept saying once the team was anounced was how he thinks Crouch is an overrated stick insect, then Crouchie bangs in 3! Big bruv was willing to take some of the words back after the match. So Everton in the next round, bring it on!
If anyone would be interested, I’ll be willing to do a match report for the bolton game. But in the meantime, come on Platzel & come on people, we did all say we would do our best to keep this blog going, please don’t let it die, I know it will never be the same without the great Bagel himself but nobody was going to fully fill his shoes, not even the Platzel but he’s giving it a good go & I for one really appreciate all his efforts

I second that YOTN; I rarely comment but I always check the blog. A match report from Bolton would be great - looking forward to it.

RosieRoo
I can only apologise for not filing a match report for the Bolton game, I promise to do one for the next game I can get to
I can’t believe the result yesterday against Stoke, we had so many chances, their keeper had a great day to say the least. But to lose after dominating the game for so long was a bitter pill to swallow. Yes we should have had a penalty that’s for sure, but we should have finished our myriad chances throughout the game. You could say that Lennon going off cost us a point but as yet we don’t know the full extent of his ankle injury
Onwards & hpefully upwards, the toffees on Tuesday night in the Carling Cup (eh, eh, eh, calm down, calm down)

Well, I feel as if I’m only doing this for myself (& possibly RosieRoo!) Anyway, back to winning ways after the disappointment against Stoke & the arse…
Not exactly a vintage performance, not by a long chalk, but Benty missed a penalty, we kept a clean sheet 9full credit to Gomez) we won & go back to 4th with a little help from Burnley having drawn 3-3 away to Citeh

Well, well, well. Spurs 9 Wigan 1, who saw that coming after going in to the break at 1-0 up. Defoe was on fire! Gomes pulled off some quality saves but so did Kirkland for the pie eaters. Back to fourth

Come on guys!
Let’s keep this alive for the memory of the great Bagel himself
Platzel, where are you? You are sorely missed mate

Good work, Spurs! To think we could very well be level with or above Man U at this stage in the season if things had gone a bit differently with Villa, Everton, or Wolves. All the same, the field is wide open. It’s wonderful to see the team get results even when Modric, King and Woodgate aren’t featuring. Should be a fun winter and spring.

Seasons greetings to all you yids
I was wondering if the Platzel would be doing a match report for the west spam game…?
A good run in to the new year, 4 matches, 3 wins & 1 draw, with wins against citeh at home, blackburn away (Mini Yid & I were there freezing out brass monkeys off & more recently against the spammers & the draw being at Fulham (not an easy place to go to as manure will testify!) with a sum total of 10 points from a maximum 12, so a good return for the effort shown
Peterborough next weekend in the FA Cup, so hopefully onwards & upwards
