Navy Blue is the Colour

Bye, bye Chelsea, Chelsea bye, bye! Another great win, although we might have lost it at the end. So, off we went to Blackburn with hopes raised once again. It was all going well and then we know the rest – I was hot and cross. The damned Rovers!

It could have been different and I know it doesn’t always apply, but that’s when you need a second goal – at least it would have made a point. It could easily have been a win and although we deserved to beat Chelsea, that could easily have been a draw.

It really seems silly to think about Europe, but here we go again. Another win today and up to eighth – for now, at least. Well done, Pav!

What a crazy season! 2 points from the first 8 games, 16 from the next 8, 6 from the next 8 (and heading back towards the bottom) and now 17 from the last 8…and it could have been more! 6 matches to go.

Survival is clear success after that start – anything else will be a bonus. Here’s to a good finish, a sensible summer with an understandable transfer window and a better season next.

No more false starts, please – long-term planning now for the short and long-term. We’ve all had enough rubbish to last a lifetime!

No disrespect mr Platzel…but, whatever happened to the Bagel?

  2. Dude Says:

    The bagel is now retired.

It’s been a crazy season, to say the least, even for the Juventus fan in me… Europe will be a fantastic bonus for Spurs - and why not? After all, we were the ones who opened up that 7th spot so I’m all for poetic justice!

  4. Dude Says:

O nooo its nooocastle. As bad as they are at the moment i can just see them winning this game and then go on a run and survive! Our recent record against them does not fill me with confidence. Please god!!! Let us contribute to their relegation and not aid in their survival! Amen!

  5. oog Says:

I agree, dude. I can see us being all midtabley and gifting them a win. And now that we’re all safe and snug, I really want to see a big team go down. So lets stick it to them. And specifically, to Alan Shearer.

That said, I still have a bit of a soft spot for them. But it would be very funny, so I’m ignoring it…

Now, I’m going to try and get writing a bit more on the bagel. I’ve said that before and not actually done anything about it, and I’m fundamentally a very lazy man, but I quite enjoyed it last time I contributed and I will also tell the bagel that I’ll be offended if he doesn’t read my work. At least that way, he has to come back online. So - I’ll do a match report for Newcastle, on the understanding that… err… actually… I might not!

  6. oog Says:

That said, even as I type all “safe and snug” and “midtabley” I still look at the league table and think we could go down.

Don’t misunderstand - I’m wrong, and we won’t. I just can’t quite get my head round accepting that totally.

One more win, boys, one more win! (just tell them that before every game).

  7. Dude Says:

Dont blame you at all oog. Thing is there are still some tough games against everton, manure and the scousers(other scousers). If we lose against noocastle then well… Anyway happy thoughts then. Looking forward to your contribution oog if you manage to lift a finger:-)

Sunday’s game we tell us a lot about the desire of our lads. We have the quality to win this but do we have the hunger? Now that we are pretty much safe, will our lot switch off or will they see the prospect of 7th place and get something from our season?

Good news that Palacios is back. Although, I think this will be another game where we let ourselves down.

Anyone on here ever get in the Olive Branch on match days? Was in there last Saturday before West Ham having not been in there for a few years. Glad to see that it has been untouched by the march of time. Now that is a proper, no frills pub. Just how it should be.

More of a Bill Nicholson man myself, Hornchurch. Esp[ecially now they have nice women pole dancers pre-game ;)

    That’l do nicely :D

  11. Dude Says:

Damn you spurs giving me heart palpitations!

  12. RosieRoo Says:

Did anyone see Berbatov’s penalty? Shameful. £20M well spent, Fergie?

  13. Hornchurch Yids Says:

I would laugh my arse off if Berbatov finishes this season empty handed.

  14. Yid of the Norf Says:

Spurs did a great bit of business when they sold Berbatov. I think if he ended this season empty handed, it would be justice after the way he sulked around our team… But it does make me laugh to see him doing the same at manure… The penalty miss was hilarious

  15. Hornchurch Yids Says:

Anyone think we can get something from Old Trafford?

Hopefully, a few Utd players might get a rest ahead of their Champs lge semi. Also, as they got 3 points last night, red faced twat might feel he can take a chance with a weaker ream selection.

I’m sure we can get a draw from this. Maybe more.

Having Defoe raring to go on the subs bench will make it interesting if we can keep it tight until the last 20 mins.

  16. Hornchurch Yids Says:

“ream selection”??? Isn’t that something a paper buyer does?

  17. Wattson Says:

Certainly on current form I think we can get something out of it. 0-0 through 80 minutes then Defoe bags us a winner. We hang on for 10 plus 5 shaky minutes.

  18. Hornchurch Yids Says:

    Wattson

That’s exactly what I was thinking (hoping).

It would be even better for us if L’Pool fail to beat Hull as the news would have reached the UTD players by the start of our game.

And of course if the Moon is in alignment with Uranus then we cant fail.

    YIDS!!

  19. Dude Says:

Im pretty sure there will be 5 extra time minutes if united need it!

  20. Dude Says:

All those who think howard webb is a cunt say aye?

  21. RosieRoo Says:

    Aye!

Wish Berbatov had taken the penalty instead!

Gutted. Thought we had it nailed but that shocking penalty decision completely turned the game around, didn’t it?

Also, thoughts and condolences to Jermaine Defoe and his family.
