Unbelievable

I like Mondays – this one, at least.

I’m now going to tell you about the 2008-2009 season – of course, this will never happen. In the first 8 games in the league, Spurs will get 2 points – their worst ever start! They will also lose their first UEFA Cup game.

In the next 8 games, they will get 16 points – not Spurs usual form and ease up to 15th. Along the way, they will win 2 League Cup games, reach the semi-final and win 2 UEFA Cup games, all in the space of about 6 weeks.

Have you stopped laughing yet, ‘cos this is the best bit. The manager who took them to the rock bottom of the Premiership was then appointed manager of Real Madrid! Tune of Laughing Policeman starts up…

What’s going to happen next? I can’t tell you. I think Harry might accept the appointment as the next manager of Manchester United because he just couldn’t turn down that challenge, but I could.

Well, in the next 8 games…

The Platzel.

  8. G Says:

Probably the happiest I’ve ever been with a 0-0. Only saw the game on MoTD, but the fact United had over 60% of possession and didn’t score is a fantastic reflection on how much our defence has improved under ‘Arry, particularly as we lost Woodgate early doors. Gomes making great saves is also a pleasure to behold - i suspect something to do with my inate British respect for struggling through adversity. He’s had a hard time, but he’s stuck to it and seems to get more confidence, and therefore just plain better, game by game. And we had a few good chances - Bently’s volley looked pretty sweet in the highlights, he might yet prove his worth. Pretty positive all round.

Well, Levy always talks a good game, but I think it looks nice. 10 years away though…

  10. Radioactive Puppy Says:

looks good, glad to see that a consideration is given to the atmosphere generated by the fans. Though the rail/ road infrastucture needs to be sorted.

On another note is the game on Thursday on TV?

  11. Wattson Says:

Its not on TV for whatever reason. Thats twice now our UEFA game hasnt been televised. Whats that all about?

  12. cosmo Says:

That’s bollocks!..now i’ve got to huddle round my radio trying to understand whats going on through all that static and i’m in the kitchen like some sad cunt…… I’m I being a pessimist or have I got the distinct feeling that Rafa has totally robbed us of Keano and he bought him just to fuck us over…cos keano has got that look on his face that says’ I’ve been done up like a kipper here’!

  13. Yid of the Norf Says:

    Radioactive, Wattson, Cosmo,

You should be able to get the game via the internet. I’m not winding you up, try Iraqgoals.com, seriously this is not a wind up, this site has worked the best for me so far

  19. Yid of the Norf Says:

Shahktar… Mmmm… That’s a tough draw, just as well we get the away leg out of the way first

    COYS!

  20. Hornchurch Yids Says:

If we sign players in January that are not cup tied are they allowed to play in the UEFA? Or do you have to be registered at the start of the comp?

TFBTFL - Spot on about Commolli. What was the point of that signing? Send him to Pompey as a makeweight in one of the numerous deals hopefully to come.

So, who fancies a nice trip to the Ukraine? We could take in a trip to Chernobyl. At least it would be warm!

  21. cosmo Says:

Hornchurch…was thinking the same thing, if by some freak situation keano or Defoe or both come back us will they play?..sorry to bring up those two, but deep down im hoping they back for a fraction of the price we sold them for…

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A YIDDO!!!

  22. Hornchurch Yids Says:

I can see Defoe coming back. Rumours abound that Pompey haven’t coughed up on that one yet so there might not even be a fee although I doubt that will be made public. We’ll probably get him for the amount that we sold him for which is the same thing really. Can’t see L’Pool making a big loss on Robbie and I can’t see us coughing up big money for a player that we have already had the best out of. For 10 million you bet, but not for any more.

‘Arry is making all the right noises about if we want to challenge we need the squad to do so. Levy has always backed his managers with cash. It would be criminal now that we have a bloke in place who ticks all the boxes that we don’t give him the financial backing. We are talking about football chairmen, so who knows. Our manager knows what players are needed to kick on in the Prem. Not sure we could say the same about Ramos and BMJ. We’ll see.

  23. HoosierYiddo Says:

Hornchurch - The Ukraine is nice, although Donetsk is pretty miserable compared to western Ukraine. I would just stay in Kiev for a day or two and then fly into Donetsk. Kiev=Europe, Donetsk=USSR. Shakhtar is tough, too. I saw them way back in July against Dynamo Kiev and was very impressed. If we make it through this I’ll be delighted, but then it’s another brutal tie with CSKA or Villa. It seems we got a very raw deal.
