Flatbread

Oh well, I’m awake now. I shouldn’t have tempted fate, but manager of the month is still possible.

I’ve been having a very strange dream. I’ve been in a parallel world where Spurs win most of their matches and never lose? That doesn’t happen in the real world, well not yet.

I’ve just had some Credit Crunch for breakfast and thought I’d better bring things up to date. I think the Bagel will be home soon and since it seems like they can lose when he’s away, all is forgiven. I didn’t mean any of those things I said, even if he is a bit of a smoothie (you know ‘shiny’).

In the real world, Spurs lost again to an ordinary team, Fulham, who work hard – in fact half the team are ex-Spurs players so probably had a point to prove. I was pretty flat yesterday since this was a match that should have been won and that’s now 7 league defeats. Anything is possible, but maybe we should forget a top 10 finish – that should have happened last season and didn’t. In the parallel world the players can eat all they want, but they used to have to half starve. I think they looked a bit too well fed yesterday and there wasn’t enough hunger – the bakery’s closed to you! More effort please. Yes, I know Big Bird couldn’t fly again, but when that happens (pretty regularly) we need more goals and they weren’t looking likely yesterday. Strikers have scored most, so where were you midfield – please show up.

Anyway, on the bright side, we’re still in all competitions we entered - unlike some of the big 4 - and there’s still hope, but we need to start winning the winnable games because they don’t come along every week – again not yet. I don’t want to be here in March and April, please.

I like the look of the proposed new stadium – can’t see where the money’s coming from? Maybe Daniel can have a word with Brown and Darling because it is in the national interest and we couldn’t let a famous institution go under, could we?

The Platzel.

Er…yes, ok…..so when does the Bagel return?

Still feeling positive, everybody has to lose sometime. Now 2 home games and then Watford away.

So top 10 and Semi finals here we come.

The fact that Arsene is heading for a nervous breakdown is turning this season into a potential classic. Can we catch them? Might stop backing Modric to score (which will of course guarantee he will) and put my money on Spurs above Arsenal come May.

If we do the Arse at the Lane, and carry on winning I think it’s possible.

TFBTFL - Under Harry I am starting to believe that anything is possible.

Even the most die hard Arsenal fan must realise their title challenge is effectively over in November.
It will be interesting to see how the fans and the players react. Arsene does not seem to be taking it that well!

We are used to being shit during parts of the season, and maybe even expect it.

Another false dawn of hope or is change in the air in North London? I bloody hope so.

  5. AO Says:

We were rubbish. If Levy has any sense he should sack Harry now before we get relegated!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Hornchurch Yids Says:

I can’t see us catching the scum but there might be a few more teams breathing down there neck around May next year. How sweet would that be to see them drop out of the CL places? Howmany of there players would stick around when big clubs come sniffing. This could be the start of the end for those cunts. Oh happy days!

  7. oog Says:

Lets start talking about catching Arsenal when we’re out of the bottom 3, my fellow yids!

Sorry to be a boring realist on this one…

Whilst being a complete spoil sport you are also absolutley right.

We need to set out sights on one of our other most hated foes………………………..West Ham……..the bastards! It’s a more realistic target.

  9. Hornchurch Yids Says:

Ahh fuck it! Let’s just avoid relegation. That’ll do me this season.

Retaining that lovley cup would also be nice! i have a sneeky feeling for a North London derby final. COYS to the BOYS!

  11. Hornchurch Yids Says:

But will the scum oiks get passed Burnley? I hope to see the clarets take the agricultural approach to that game. Scare the little fuckers in the tunnel and then give em a proper whack early on. Then they can go home crying to mummy Wenger.

Someone do a match report on Sunday. This blog needs CPR. Where’s everyone gone?

  13. Wilson Says:

Sorry Diaz mate but I found a little site called glory-glory and it’s severely testing my allegiance to the Bagel!

There’s nothing wrong with straying from time to time. We’ve all done it. We do need to keep this place going though. It’s not a hive of activity at the moment but give it a while longer. Things will pick up eventually. A bit like our season.

How about as a way to keep the engine ticking over we all take a turn at recounting a treasured Spurs memory. It doesn’t have to be a game. It can be anything THFC related. You know, like the time when you were on a bus home from school and you flobbed on the back of the kid wearing the ARSE*** scarf. Fun stuff like that.

  15. RosieRoo Says:

OK Hornchurch, I’m up for that.

I remember getting my first Spurs shirt. It was the Holsten one we won the FA Cup in (I was 6). It was a man’s size and, obviously, absolutely enormous but I loved it.

Still got it. It’s still enormous.

  16. Block54Diaz Says:

Wilson, I have been on the Harry Hotspur site a lot more and also pop in to Dear Mr Levy so i know what you mean, we all love Spurs we’re bound to be doing it.

Treasured Spurs memory? Well my main one is the Semi Final of 1991 (16 at the time), that was like a dream day.

Another was in Rural Norfolk when Spurs played Ipswich and Cundy scored his wonder goal!! I played an Ipswich fan for his shirt at pool, he told me he only wanted to win so he could wash his car with my t shirt (not a Spurs shirt). When I won a Norwich fan went and washed his car with the Ipswich shirt!!! A cracking day.

My first North London derby and what a game to pick!

  18. Wilson Says:

A recent good memory I have is watching the first half of Spurs v Liverpool in the league at the pub then going to work resigned to another defeat. Got home after my shift to be told by my Dad we’d won 2-1. Could not believe it :-D

  19. Hornchurch Yids Says:

I remeber my first Spurs game very well. 1979 home to Stoke. We won 1 - nil with John Pratt scoring.

There were plenty of games but the first real big game for me was the 1981 FA cup semi replay at Highbury against Wolves. We had drawn the first encounter at Hillsborough. I remember my Uncle telling my Mum that he had got tickets for me and my 2 brothers. My Uncle was a young man then and we were 3 young boys so it was a real adventure. On a warm April evening - up to Liverpool St, a quick walk through Finsbury Circus and into Moorgate station. The City is a great place to walk through and to this 10 year old on his way to see Spurs try and claim a place in the cup final the journey just took on a magic of it’s own. From Moorgate it was just a quick train ride to Drayton Park station. We had tickets for the clock end. That night Spurs had all of the North Bank, probably most of the seats on both sides and over half the Clock End. For anyone who remembers the old Clock End we stood high up on the corner with the North Bank to our left. The ground was heaving and it was great being Spurs fans and taking over the home of the enemy. Over 52000 in attendance and most were Yids. So, when Ricky picks up the ball out on the right and moves to attack the clock end goal, still about 30 yards out he then drops his shoulder and cuts inside onto his left foot…… You know the rest. Ecstacy!!!!!! Nobody in and around Highbury that night were in any doubt about who was going to Wembley!

Keep the anecdotes and memories coming in. COYS!
