Bit of a bummer Deadly Ledly being out for a while, might be an idea to see what Dorian Dervite can do - still a bit young and may need a bit of toughing up but he may make the grade. As far as I can remember he only played one Carling Cup game last season but he looked ok to me.

Anyone think a fiver on DB being the prems top goal scorer is worth a go?

I hope that we can outscore opponents because I fear that Ledley will never be the same (especially in the air). I have had knee surgery myself, and it definitely takes its toll on your jumping and running ability. I just hope we can score enough goals to keep up. I don’t think Kaboul will solidify our defense right away (perhaps in time), and I’m not sure Boateng is going to remind us of Makelele. His reputation seems to be as a balanced midfielder (I just hope that he is more ferocious than JJ).
Honestly, I don’t know why MJ went to Ghaly so many times last year. He showed one or two flashes of skill (I remember one nice volley to Huddlestone for a great goal), but how many times did he show wretched passes and stupid turnovers? I am glad to see him go. Maybe he will do better in a central role at the Blues, but he was a liability for us rather than an assett.
