Torres Tosh

Oh, come on. Who are they trying to kid? Athletico Madrid may well be going to announce that hitman extraordinaire, Fernando Torres, is up for sale but for the internet nonsenicles with nothing else to talk about linking him with us is just…well…it’s just poor. Not a single bit of evidence out there to say so; no quotes from anyone, not even a brief interview with a man who once delivered him milk. Nada. Dick.

Right now, Man U are harder for a striker than lifer on a conjugal visit and if they can’t have Dimitar the Great, then there ain’t now way there letting this chappie go and if by some chance they did and if we did happen to want to spend our hard earned £15m on yet another top notch centre forward and if he would rather opt for UEFA Cup football over the Champions League and if he really does want to come to the England with all our bad weather then have you seen the list of sodding clubs linked with the 23-year-old? It’s longer than your sodding arm: Liverpool, United, Chelsea, arsenal, Newcastle, West Ham and oh yes, us.

Great player but I’m not giving him the full bagel until there’s something a little more solid out there than what hits my pan after a night on the raz.

Now, a far more plausible option and no less interesting is another connection from La Liga, Barcelona’s flying winger, Ludovic Giuly (good name - bit girly though). At 30 years old it’s not like he’d be a long term option but at just a mill and a half, who cares? It’s possible MJ’s thinking about getting him in to make Little Aaron feel a little less little. He’d tower over Tiny Giuly who barely comes in at 5′5″; probably uses a child’s kit but surely it’s only The Bagel that has a little chuckle at these things? Whoever gave him the nick-names: Petit Prince de Monaco, Magic Imp, The Atomic Goblin and El Raton (that’s a rat to you and I) had no such thing in mind.

All of the piss take rather pales into insignificance when you see what he can do. Now, I can’t find a clip that does him any justice but if you’ve never seen him play. He’s quick like Little Aaron, a little thicker set, he shoots and he can do things like this…

…where do we sign?

The most fun part of all is that it’s none other than Planetoid Head Allardyce who is the other manager in the running but maybe he’ll be too busy trying to sort out this Barton business to notice us snaffling a nice bit of talent from under his cavernous nostrils. We shall see… oh and I nearly forgot, here’s head…

Of course there is another less fantastical approach to getting to know our possible team for next season. There’s a Spurs XI game been announced on the official site at Dartford FC on the 16th July. The main squad will probable still be abroad but it might just be worth the trip just for that Lilywhite fix.

The bagel extends life. The bagel expands consciousness.

The Bagel.

….and in signing Giuly it might mean that Barca just have to fill the gap left in attack by signing Tosser Henry, so there’s another excellent reason to grab the petit pois.

I love it. We get one of their excellent players and Barca get one of the scums excellent players. Everyones a winner.

Very happy with our fixture order. Especially the run in at the end. From March onwards we have games that we should really win bar Liverpool at the end but if we get a good few results going into that one you never know, could get a home win over them. COYS

    Hello Wilson

Disappointed that the 1st game is away again, although it could have been a lot worse than Sunderland.

It’s a great opportunity to get off to a flyer with our first 3 games.

It’s a shame that we have to go to Old Trafford before they become fully embroiled in Champions league fixtures.

As long as we can go into the Scum game with plenty of momentum we’ll beat them this year. I just know it.

Bagel - I am up for Sunderland away and you shoudl be as well…

    On Hornchurch Yid’s point…

I want Henry to stay at Arsenal!

He’s a couple of months short of 30. He is a great player because he has skill and pace combined. He is also injury prone. His pace is going to start to fade and he doesn’t seem to be the kind of player who will last long into his mid 30s.

So the way I see it - he can either have another year or two of slowly diminishing returns even when he isn’t injured at a team that look to be on their way down, or Wenger can flog him for £25 million to a team stupid enough to pay that, and all of a sudden their limited transfer budget becomes that little bit less limited.

I’ve got a gooner mate who also thinks they should flog Fabregas for £30 million (on his eight year contract) as well and give Wenger £70 million to spend this summer!

Wenger has built new teams by flogging big stars for silly money and I’d rather it didn’t happen again!

Yea I know 3rd time in a row away from home first game. But look on the bright side, if we come out of that one 3 points to the good we’ve got 2 home games to gain more points. So hopefully going into the Man U game we’l be on 9 and hopefully on a bit of a high for gaining revenge over Everton for last season!

    Hello oog

It’s a dilemma as to which scenario would be best for us. I agree that allowing the scum to generate cash could cause us problems. It’s great knowing that they are struggling with their massive debt at present but it’s only a matter of time before they receive funds from somewhere. Most probably from Kroenke investing.

If Henry was to stay and have another poor season then fantastic but he may well have one very good season left in him. Rather that was with another team than with the other lot.

At some stage they will have money to spend. I just hope that by then Henry, Wenger and Fabregas have all pissed off.
