Congratulations Toby the Yid

Like the Yid of The North, The Bagel was stuck at work last night while Jimmy Ticket was the lucky recipient of the most crumb covered season ticket in town. By the way Jim, I still haven’t received the match report. Perhaps it got lost in the mail.

Thankfully, I was able to catch much of the game with one eye on a nearby screen but I missed all the juiciness of the Ghaly incident and all the tension that you could read on the faces of those who were there last night.

Jimmy Ticket did at least fill me in with a few of the details post match and I hear there was in fact a cheer as Boutros Boutros was subbed on and off in a move that all fans had been hoping would happen. I’ve also been told of the pitiful number of 70 or so Blackburn fans that turned up for the show. The song went:

“What time’s your minibus, What time’s your minibus?” (to the tune of La Donne e Mobile)

At least our visitors were could enough to reply, “Around 10.30”.

But enough of what I wasn’t there to see. Let me know what you all saw.

Congrats Toby. Good luck tomorrow and send my best the soon to be Mrs The Yid.

The Bagel.

To be honest Bagel you didn’t miss much, especially first half, Blackburns’ opener was well deserved (yes, another bloody header).

However 2nd half we started pick it up and drive forward, but I did beg the question how Jol expects the midfield to push up and support the front two when you’ve got Taino and Zokora, possibly the lowest scoring CM combination in the prem. playing centre mid. Chimbonda was just crying out for an overlapping run from somewhere which didn’t come what with Lennon being wasted on the left again ( he did nutmeg about 4 players though). I did used to think a playmaking centre mid was a priority, but now I definatly agree with the masses who would like to see a left winger. We could have easily have snatched this game at the death (as me and some others believed we had for a good 5 seconds) but it was not to be as the ball apparantly cannoned off the post, a draw was a fair result I think.

Also this game made me appriciate what Little Leftback Lee brings to the team going forward, Gardner has a good outlet pass from defence but as soon as he crosses that half way line with the ball you can just see how uncomfortable he is. As for Ghaly…well, I posted a lil comment on him on the last story. Anyway that’s my attempt at Matchday reportings, hope it’s been useful :-)

Toby the Yid, Good luck for the big day, I hope she realises she’s gonna be your wife but a Spurs widow!

Wilson, like the condenced match report, I think you summed things up pretty much how they were

I love Dimitar Berbatov’s attitude towards the game, he is so humble and fully appreciates the talent and oppertunity he has been gifted with. Good to see him pledge his future (next season at least) to the club, shame on you Fergie. Also i’m gonna jump out the box and say I LIKE OUR NEW KITS, YES, EVEN THE FOURTH ONE even if it does look like a faded Blackburn home strip!!

  5. 1992YIDO Says:

yeah, that fourth one will only be used once in a special game. im’e loving the fact that we’ve gone for all white for the home strip, but whats with the Chinese writing next to mansion on the 2nd and 3thrd strips, all good apart from navy.

    COYS!
