Europe, Chelsea and even more lashings of Georgie Thompson
It’s going to be a big few days at White Hart Lane with a UEFA tie this evening that could more or less see us through to the next round and a game on Sunday against Chelsea that is in some ways massive and others miniscule. What The Bagel can guarantee is that he will be there for both and there in full voice and wrapped up as warm as possible because damn it got cold all of a sudden. I’m hoping for a full house for good support, good atmosphere but most of all a bit of body heat and given that tonight is the second and final free cup game on the season ticket scheme, we should have just that.
Club Bruge seemed like the 3 point game when the fixtures were first announced but now with their 11 games unbeaten record and their most recent 5-1 demolition of Mouscron at the weekend perhaps not all will be as rosy as expected. Their squad too is not quite the pile of ‘who’ we may have hoped for with Jonathon Blondel returning to the Lane and keen to prove a point as most rejects are. To be fair, he always looked promising but just wasn’t with us at the right time. The Hoddle era was a little tricky for some perfectly good players to get any kind of run in the side, particularly with stars like Bunjy and The Doc to compete with.
Phillippe Clement (Coventry), Joos Valgareen and Bosko Bablaban (Villa) also make returns to the UK but…nah, what am I talking about? We’ll wipe the floor with them. I don’t care how much form they’ve got going on in that competitive division that is the Jupiler League, it’s all about quality and we’re the ones who’ve got it. That unbeaten run has got to end some time and that time is 8pm tonight. Don’t miss it (ITV4 or in your seat).
Sunday is somewhat different encounter with the balance of quality tipped the other way. As a matter of fact, their reserves would probably have the edge on our first XI in the same equation. Well, not far off anyway. The game is hugely important as a) It’s a derby and we hate them and b) that God damn hoodoo. It’s slightly unimportant as we’re not expected to get anything out of it.
Having still never beaten Chelsea in the Premiership, we live in hope that that day will come and when it does there will never be an atmosphere like it. Sure the scum are our biggest enemy but to finally get the better of Chelsea would be more satisfying than an endless cigarette after a two week threesome with Scarlett Johansson and Georgie Thompson, both practically in tears they’re so spent, whispering sweet nothings into your ear about how nobody does it better except perhaps for Martin Jol.
For a while I thought I had to miss Sunday’s game and I must confess I was praying we wouldn’t win. Never will we see such ecstatic highs at WHL as when we finally get them and I would hate to miss that unrecreatable feeling that I would have missed. However, now that The Bagel’s presence is assured…Come on you fucking Spurs!
You, my room, 10.30. You, my room, 10.45…bring a bagel.

It would never work, the Bagel and Georgie…she’s a Fulham fan, or as she has just said to my Sky sources:
“I’m a pretend Fulham fan”
Icouldn’t get a quote as to her feelings on a three-way with Scarlett Johanson though…

Fulham fan? I like it. Classy. But The Bagel will bring her round. She will understand the true nature of football. She’ll be covered in breadcrumbs before she can say ‘Chris Coleman’.
Hang on…I’ve got Scarlett on the line…
