Well, hush my mouth. Reports today are saying that the goldilocked Czech, Pavel Nedved, is preparing for crisis talks this week with the Juve massive. Apparently, Del Piero somewhat spoke on his behalf when he said that the pair of them would stay and fight for the Grand Old Lady of Italian football. I can see it now.

Martin Jol must have invested in a few Italian language CD’s because he’s really getting the practice in. This morning sees us linked with three more Italian league players and only one of them at a relegated club. Massimo Oddo and Daniele Bonera from Lazio and Parma respectively come in the form of full back cover and Udinese’s unpronounceable Vincenzo Iaquitna is a striker, who we’ve bid for before. Oddo’s pedigree is in no doubt but Bonera is probably the interesting package here. At 6′ tall and 25 years old, he covers just about any position across the back and has been on the fringes of the Italian national squad for a few years but most importantly Wenger wants him. Udinese have flat out rejected the bid from Spurs and it’s likely that yet another candidate for our fourth striking birth has been crossed of the shopping list. Buy toilet roll, more cat food, fourth striker.
And finally the story I’ve been promising for days is the latest chapter in the Carrick saga. Martin Jol seems to have taken a short break from his senses by asking for Wes Brown/Orange as part of a swapsie for our playmaker. Thankfully the chewing gum machine doesn’t want to part with tango man Brown but it is a bit of a worry that this bargaining continues. It does make me think that Carrick wants to go and it’s just a matter of ironing out the deal. Let’s hope my Spidy-senses are wrong.
