“I take it back”
The Oogel, 26th October 2008

Well, football makes hypocrites of us all! I didn’t think Ramos was anything like the main cause of our predicament, and I didn’t want to see him sacked. But sometimes its more important to make a possibly wrong decision than to make no decision at all. I stole that from “touching the void”, by the way, which could also be the title of our season to date. And I have to admit that one of the reasons I didn’t want to see Ramos go was because I didn’t see anyone available who could come in and do any better.

Redknapp will do better.

The Right Mix

We were hoping for some better news after Thursday night, but not yet? Yes, again it could have been different, but it was more of the same!

I was going to start by asking about the state of the patient? Yes, there’s still a pulse but not that much brain activity at the moment!

OK, so we had a goalie error (we’ve had those before, with other keepers) but when that happens you need 2 goals to turn it round – and where are they supposed to be coming from at the moment?

However, I’m not that despondent – there were some decent players out there, although a number aren’t playing that well, but it needs more effort and belief. I only saw most of the second half and there was one serious effort on goal, I think? I don’t care if there were only 10 men. Darren, don’t look so distraught if the goalie saves a great effort – one isn’t enough. It’s not your fault – I’m looking for more from the midfield or anywhere – can we have a few shots please?

Where’s the Beef or a Bread Basket Case?

Where do we start? If you look at the Premiership Table today – most of us can’t bear to – and look at the Bagel, it looks like the Club has died? Well, it hasn’t and we may be down, but we’re not out – of the Premier League yet!

The Bakery has been closed recently, but bear with us we’re going to get the ovens fired up again! Terrible – no beef and no bread (bagels, in particular), and no wins! What are we going to eat – humble pie, I guess?
