You know you’ve got the love of a good woman when she agrees to go down to your football club to watch the U18s play in the FA Youth Cup needing no persuasion whatsoever. You know she’s excellent when she enjoys it too and you know to be a little scared when she screaming louder than yourself, through blackened or missing teeth telling the referee and all the opposition exactly what part of the female anatomy she thinks they are. Fortunately, the latter part was not the case and it was only I and the odd voice from the crowd shouting out the odd one man chant as the Mini-Spurs took on Chester City Juniors.

Was it a goal? Wasn’t it a goal? Does it even matter? Well, I suppose the answer is yes, but not to the scoreline. We had enough chances to bury Reading. JJ missed two one-on-ones, the second being criminal and as for Keano’s sitter at the beginning, we had all ready reached the the “Ye…” of “Yeah” before dumbstruck we noticed he’d missed, the goal at his mercy like a drunk chick in freshers’ week.

January 3rd? Just three days of the transfer window gone and I’m all ready exhausted. It certainly takes its toll when your club is on the wrong end of the biggest story of the winter sales. Word today is that it’s going to cost the right suitor one whopping great bag of cash for the signature of the world’s favourite Bulgarian and I’m starting to see this picture that’s being drawn between Emil Dantchev and the Tottenham Board.

The latest update is from a press conference with Ramos who, looking rather depressed in his Italian leather jacket, said:

“It (speculation) is normal because the transfer window has just opened, but we want this footballer to stay with us.”

“He is here now and unless somebody comes along with an offer that is too good to refuse, he will stay here and we are happy to have him.”

I did say that the closing date for this competition was the end of 2007 but I’m opening it up until…hang on where are we….til midnight on Friday night, 4th January 2008. If you’ve all ready entered you are at liberty to change your guess, if you haven’t then here are the rules:

Send me an e-mail to thebagel@beefbagel.com with your guess for where Spurs will finish in the Premiership at the end of the 2007/8 season and, as a tie-breaker, tell me how many points we’ll finish on.

The winner will receive free membership to Spurs next season, which gives you priority booking for tickets as well as a nice card and whatever little gift comes with it. If you live abroad, have a season ticket or simply cannot use the membership for whatever reason I’ll give you a prize from the Spurs Store of equal value.
