I wonder what time it is. Now, if I open my eyes, if actually move, I know I wont be sleeping again but the problem is I haven’t set an alarm. It could 7am and I’ll be stuck here with a tired, sore head to toss and turn or more likely toss and toss until I admit defeat and face the world. The Bagel’s being trying to write these transfer tales, as tall as they are, for simply days. I’ve been itching to have may fun and my say and in that order but business at The Bakery has been high. There’s loaves in the oven, there’s flour on the floor, doe all over the place and by God it’s hot. But all the stress and strain simply flows out my fingers as I finally sit down to do what I do best. So, without any further ado…

Is it only Wednesday? It seems strange with so many days between games but then I suppose that’s what it must have been like for arsenal for quite a while now and even though there may be more to lose than to gain for either side at our meeting on Saturday, there is of course still the matter of North London pride.

There’s nothing like an emphatic win to shake off those Uefa Cup blues and yesterday’s game against Wigan was just that; nothing like it. Going forward we weren’t too shabby and with the ball at our feet we looked the more dangerous but Wigan seemed happier to play volleyball than kick it along the ground and well, who can blame them against a techincally superior opposition?

This has been the slowest week of my life, the world’s longest half time. It’s all been quiet with the Champions League warm up act but now the main event is finally upon us. So we’ve got no full backs and it seems it’s a choice between getting Chimbondabonda to play on both sides simultaneously or put our faith in the never quiet made the grade Phil Ifil. It’s a very strange day. Definitely the long weekend, at least I hope so otherwise I’m in for a bit of a shock tomorrow morning. No, I’ve checked the calendar, it is Easter and yet, there is no Spurs football match today. Spooky. I’ll just have to guzzle more chocolate and watch an extra Bond film this afternoon. Then it’ll feel like a Bank Holiday.

I don’t know if it was he 36 hours rest, our loss in the UEFA Cup, the horrific scenes in Sevilla or the fact that playing Chelsea away this season is just a case of been there done that. Whatever the answer, there was certainly a rather large shadow of who gives a fuck over yesterday’s game against Chelsea.
